How to change the speed of a clip quickly
- Right-click on a clip in your Premiere Pro timeline
- Go to “Speed/Duration“
- Change the percentage value of your choice
Pro tip – it’s good practice to only change the speed of the clip in multiples of the clip’s frame rate. If you don’t do this, the frame rate will not match properly and the footage will look jumpy. For example, speed up by 100%, 200% etc. Slow down by 50%, 25% etc.
Speed ramping in Premiere Pro
Speed ramping is an effect when changing from one speed to another in a smooth ramp-like manner (just like in the video below).
